The Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) was created in partnership with a network of leading technology companies, consultancy firms, and industry and academic experts. SIRI comprises a suite of frameworks and tools to help manufacturers – regardless of size and industry – start, scale, and sustain their manufacturing transformation journeys. SIRI covers the three core elements of Industry 4.0: Process, Technology, and Organisation.
The purpose of a Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) Assessment is to help companies identify the focus areas to kick-start their industry 4.0 journey.
The Assessment evaluates the entire manufacturing process following the SIRI framework and utilising the SIRI tools.
Assessment ScopeOur Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA) will work with you to select and document the scope of the Assessment to define where the results will apply.
The SIRI Assessment is typically applied to a single factory/plant to maintain the focus, but can be applied even more granularly.
Our Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA) will spend 1-2 days evaluating your business conducting the Assessment Matrix.
For an effective SIRI Assessment participants should have a good knowledge of the processes and areas being assessed.
A group of 10-15 participants is an ideal size for a CSA to effectively manage discussions and derive useful insights.
Our Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA) will work with you to collect the Prioritisation Inputs and validate the Prioritisation Matrix.
Our Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA) will take all the information gathered and review and analyse all the information.
This information is then used to generate your SIRI Assessment Report.
This report contains details of the scope of the assessment, the 4 focus dimensions identified and comparison against industry.
The report also contains feedback, observations, and actions to help you move to the next band.
Debrief SessionOur Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA) will present the report to the assessment participants, explaining the findings and the rationale behind them.
The CSA will provide insights and best practices that will help the company move to the next banding.

What is Included?The SIRI Assessor Training Course delivers the required skills to manufacturing industry practitioners to become a Certified SIRI Assessor (CSA). The material provides an overview of Industry 4.0 and the SIRI frameworks (LEAD and TIER). The instructor led course provides detailed training on the process for conducting an Official SIRI Assessment, including step by step instruction on the SIRI Assessment process, a detailed understanding of the tools and materials used, business consulting concepts, professionalism and ethics, practical workshops to develop assessment and feedback techniques, and delivering understanding of the Assessment Matrix and Prioritisation Matrix.
Pre-requisitesTo fully benefit from the SIRI Assessor Training Course, candidates require an understanding of the technologies for Industry 4.0 and the benefits they can provide an organisation, plus knowledge of the SIRI framework. These can be obtained through our foundation courses.
SIRI Assessor Certification Scheme – 2 Part Monitored Online Examination over 2 daysThe SIRI Assessor Certification Scheme ensures the integrity and consistent delivery of the Official SIRI Assessment by evaluating the quality and capability of the CSA. Successful completion of the SIRI Assessor Training Course allows eligible candidates, who meet the relevant pre-requisites, to register for the CSA Examination.
The CSA Examination is a two-part process.
- A multiple choice, timed theory examination
- A practical application examination using case study material
